PHILIPPINES WIND FARMS

Perhaps the Philippines being an archipelago, a country within the oceans and seas, with 24/7 wind reseource due to sea breeze and land breeze exhange; and due to seasonal occurrence of typhoons, plus the high altitude mountain ranges where wind continuosly blowing, will be the best locations for wind farm projects. Aside from Tidal wave energy development, wide expanse of coastal areas can be treated as best location of wind farms. Although, wind technology is not a new industry, Philippines entered this renewable industry just recently with the Northwind wind farm located in Bangui, Ilocos Norte. Investors around the world are looking into opportunity that may be created by the passage of the Feed-in-Tariff to renewable energy projects here.

This Feed-in-Tariff will make a leverage for sure profit for this RE projects in the Philippines. Once the mechanics is done passing all the barriers of the oppositions and scrutiny of stake holders, investors will start developing RE projects to augment small percent of the power supply requirement  for the Philippine's national grid, but the best thing is it will create employment and advance our technology interms of using renewable enegy. It can be also a good stepping stone for Filipino skilled workers to experience and develop technical know how on this emerging industry.

TIDAL POWER FOR THE PHILIPPINES

There is a very big opportunity for the Philippines to develop the Tidal energy as the main source of electricity. This tidal power can be generated using simple padel wheel made of indigenous or pvc material. Opportunity lies in all riverside, marine and coastal areas where continuos flow of water is present. Though, this electric power generator can be built by private individual, the best way however is to make it under a cooperative system or even in the municipal level. Imagine if we can provide free electricity to supply barangay halls, street lights and other facilities for public use a lot of savings can be utilities to fund education or health programs of the government.

The method is simple but require tools and machinery that may cost varied amount according to their power requirement.

We have Filipino inventor in the name of Benny R. Mendoza who devotedly developed the system LAND BASED TIDAL POWER GENERATION and a lot of ideas that can be played on using the Canadian Technologies, below is the link to the website.

I believe in not less than a decade Philippines will have a power craze inventions and a lot of hobiest will divert their attention to tidal power electric generations.
